My First Blog, My First Post.

That's me, in the backseat of a car, coming back from a cottage, in late summer, 2004. As with just about everyone I know, I am very displeased with most pictures of myself. This one, however, I could look at for a long, long time. I think it looks a little bit like the Euro-hipster version of myself, existing in some bizzarro universe, DJ-ing awesome dance parties on exclusive islands in the Mediterannean, forced to turn away sexy ladies because there just isn't enough time in the day to accomodate them all. Call this an unfair generalization, but no matter what age, men all have a horny 14-year old version of ourselves living in the basement bedroom of our personalities, sleeping late, and dreaming of sundress season.

What this picture does not reveal is the underside of the public veneer: the old man inside that gets cranky easily, needs a full night's sleep, and is uncomfortable sitting on the ground for extended periods of time. I used to think myself a bit of the Hippie; the older I get, the more that Hippie gets swallowed by the Yuppie, who likes to go 'antiquing' (shopping in junk shops), drink decent red wine, and sit in comfortable chairs.

Welcome to the Atomic Ant.

To conclude: hurray for me, and my first post to my first blog.
