Hope is the latest in a series of tags that have been going up across the city over the past few years. It started out with I love you tagged in blue, found everywhere from alleys, next to `regular' graffiti, to curbs, to residential brick walls. Its an eccentric phrase to spray up, and always caught me off my guard, made me think, and inspired a smile.
After I love you, I saw Peace go up across the city, but not near as often. Hope has shown up everywhere. These photos were taken within 5 minutes and 2 blocks of each other.
Part of the fun of this graffiti is trying to get the mental picture of who is doing the spraying. The script is the same for all, so they are certainly done by the same individual. Stereotypes do not hold when trying to put together a mind's eye view of the perp writing I love you in an alley off of College.
